Cornelius Became the Ninth Bee City USA in Oregon in February 2026

The Cornelius City Council unanimously voted on January 5, 2026, to apply to become a Bee City USA affiliate. In February 2026, Cornelius was officially designated, joining more than 100 cities and campuses nationwide committed to improving habitats for pollinators.

Through this designation, Cornelius affirms its commitment to supporting sustainable pollinator habitats and educating the community about the essential role bees play in our ecosystem. This achievement reflects years of collaboration among City staff, local experts, and community advocates.
