Mission Statement
Promote and administer local and state building standards for the health, safety, and welfare of people who use and occupy building within the City, by providing plan review and inspections of private and public development.

Mechanical, Structural, and Plumbing Permits
The City of Cornelius contracts building services from City of Forest Grove. The Forest Grove's Building Division is responsible for reviewing and approving plans, issuing permits and performing inspections for new construction, alterations, and repairs. It provides structural, plumbing, mechanical, fire, and life safety plan review and performs all required inspections (except electrical) related to both commercial and residential construction. In addition to those listed above, Forest Grove also issues Manufactured Dwelling Placement Permits.

Public Works Permits
The City of Cornelius Public Works issues permits for performing work in the right-of-way. This includes sidewalks, driveways, bike-lanes, and planter strips. Contact an engineer at Public Works to determine if a permit is required for the work you want to complete.
