Friends of the Library

Friends of the Cornelius Library members and volunteers are dedicated to supporting the library through volunteer activities, donations, and fundraising to help the library be a successful part of the community.

The Friends are funded by annual dues paid by members and by proceeds from used book and t-shirt sales. Other funding comes from project grants and partner programs like Fred Meyer Rewards and BottleDrop.

The Friends of the Library provide critical funding for special programs, including:

  • Annual Summer Reading Challenge
  • Special children's programs and supplies
  • Technology
  • Cultural celebrations
  • Lectures
  • Grant matching

Join the Friends

  • Membership fees are tax-deductible.
  • You can join, renew, and upgrade your membership through the Friends PayPal account.
  • You can also set memberships to automatically renew each year.
  • Or, you can mail the membership form and check made payable to Friends of Cornelius Library at

Volunteer with the Friends

  • Participate in governance on the Board
  • Sort and stock used book donations for sale
  • Attend community events to promote the Friends and Library
  • Support special library events by introducing presenters, serving refreshments, and doing set up/clean up
  • Write small grants in collaboration with the library
  • Participate in fun, exciting, and unique fundraisers.
