The Cornelius Public Library welcomes the opportunity to have students and partners visit the library. The following are our guidelines for group visits to the library:

  • Our primary goal is to schedule groups that serve the residents of the City of Cornelius.
  • Our objective is to connect the community with library resources and services.
  • Cornelius Public Library schedules group visits that align with our mission statement.

Connect, inspire, and empower all to thrive

Connectar, inspirar, y apoyar a todos para prosperar

-Cornelius Public Library Mission Statement

  • Cornelius Public Library participates in events that are free to the public.
  • Schedule your group's visit as far in advance as possible. In order to properly plan, please submit requests at least 2-4 weeks before the event date. This allows us to reserve the day you choose or to notify you of conflicts.
  • Assigned staff members present tours as appropriate, depending on the age and/or the purpose of the tour.
  • Teachers and sponsors are expected to stay with their groups at all times.
  • Library staff are not able to provide informational presentations on requested topics, teach a class, or provide specific curriculum support.
  • Requests for recurring tours will be considered, depending on such factors as availability or staff. We would like to accommodate as many schools, daycares, and other organizations as possible. We will do our best to accommodate as many visits as requested. In order to serve as many groups in our community as possible, we do prioritize groups within the City of Cornelius.
  • Large groups (generally six or more people) that attend regularly scheduled programming on a routine basis may be asked to schedule group visits if the size of the group becomes so large that it disrupts regular service. Examples might include attendance at open story times or use of the public computers.
  • HYGIENE: Please wash and sanitize hands frequently during your visit. Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout our facilities.
  • HEALTH SCREENING: Anyone who is feeling unwell or has a fever should arrange to visit another day.
